Mr. Edwin Thomas "E.T." Swartz, age 74 of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, February 01, 2024.
He is survived by his significant other Sheila Sears, and one sister Kathy Lou Swartz Tatro (Dale Tatro). One son, Tim Miller (Samantha Miller); two daughters, Megan Smith Davis (Wendell Davis). Molly Cross (Brandon Cross); three nephews Will Cooper, Richard Lewis Swartz, and Todd Cooper JR.; two nieces, Maegen Swartz, and Christie Lynn Swartz; eight grand children, Ava Davis, Cannon Cross, Cambri Cross, Cooper Cross, Addison Miller, Ollie Miller, Lela Miller and James Miller.
Edwin joined the US Army in 1970 and served in South Carolina before returning home to Somerset. He then served as a volunteer fireman with the Parker's Mill fire department alongside his brother Gary Lynn Swartz, and many friends. ET joined the Pulaski County Sheriff's department and served as a patrolman for a numbers of years before being promoted to Detective serving under Sam Catron.
Edwin always enjoyed being outdoors mowing, swinging on the porch watching humming birds he fed and grilling burgers and chicken. He was a self proclaimed gourmet chef.
Edwin loved The Lord and is rejoicing with many family members who went home before him.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 at the Pulaski Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. David Bullock officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 5th.
Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38
Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
