Edith Price

Edith Hawk Price, age 91 of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Berea, Kentucky.

Edith was born March 29, 1932 to Ben and Sarah Phelps Hawk in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was a member of the Barnesburg Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and she loved attending her church until her health prevented it. She retired from the Palm Beach Company after 25 years of service as a seamstress. She loved and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking especially for her friends and family. If you visited her house, you most likely “had” to eat before you left. Edith was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Price; her parents Ben Hawk and Sarah Hawk; her brother Leonard Hawk, her sisters Beulah Hawk Inabnitt, Sylvia Hawk McCalister, Eva Jean Hawk Wardwell, Alta Hawk Blair, and Edna Hawk Farmer; and her daughter in law Lavena “Bean” Price.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Jeffrey (Cindy) Price, Danny (Debbie) Price, and Keith Price all of Somerset, KY; her brother Lenzie “Coop” Hawk of Dayton OH; her grandchildren, Melody Price of Richmond, KY, Christy (Dewayne) Carter of Eubank, KY, Mandy (Justin) Abney of Lexington, KY, Kami (Brian) Bumpus of Knoxville, TN, Danielle (Jason) Davis of Somerset, KY, Jacob (Sarah) Price of Alexandria, VA, and Sarah Price of Bowling Green KY; 12 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a number of very special caregivers including Janell Meadows, Jane Rutherford, Chelsea Fore, and Brittany Anderson. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 beginning at 4 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 10 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2023 with Brother Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will be in the Barnesburg Cemetery.
