Edgar J. Mounce

Edgar “Eddie” J. Mounce, age 72, of Somerset, Kentucky, formerly of Detroit, Michigan,
beloved Son of Mary Stogsdill Mounce and the late Carvel J. Mounce, was born on February 15th, 1948 in Somerset, Kentucky. He passed from this life to his eternal resting place on October 18th, 2020 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Edgar “Eddie” is survived by his mother, Mary Mounce of Somerset, Kentucky, son, and
daughter in law Eddie J. (and Kara) Mounce and his three granddaughters Katelynn, Allison, and Julianne Mounce of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is also survived by his siblings Betty Guyzik, of Westland, Michigan, Georgia Szlachta of New Boston, Michigan, Fran (and Jim) Balentine of Somerset, Kentucky, Sharon (and Ronnie) Kilgore of Somerset Kentucky, James (and Barbara) Mounce of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Doris Donati (and Kenny Blanton) of Somerset, Kentucky, and Janie (and Jim) Bullock of Somerset, Kentucky, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him greatly.
Other than his father, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Deward, Barry, and Joey Mounce, and brothers in law Ted Szlachta (Georgia) and Johnny Guyzik (Betty).
Eddie retired from Ford Motor Company after 28 years. He proudly served in the US Army from 1967-1970 and was honorably discharged with various decorations and awards. He loved his family, God, and his country. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing cards, and shooting pool. Eddie was an avid Detroit and University of Michigan sports fan. He loved spending time with his three granddaughters and watching them participate in their various sports and activities.
We will celebrate his life on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 with a visitation at the Pulaski Funeral Home chapel from 12-2 pm. There will be a military honors ceremony at 12 PM and a funeral service beginning at 2 pm. Immediately following the service, a burial ceremony will be held at White Lily Baptist Church Cemetery.
