Dortha Mae Meece Haggard

Dortha Mae (Meece) Haggard, daughter of the late William Lawrence and Lela Marie (Stephens) Meece was born in the Ruth Community of Pulaski County on Monday, May 14th, 1945 and departed this life in Somerset, on Sunday, January 23, 2022 having attained the age of 76 years.
Dortha was a homemaker, and a retired School Bus aide for the Pulaski County School System. She was a faithful member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed piecing quilts together, Crocheting and mowing the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Larry Russell Haggard; her sons, Rodney Dale Haggard and his fiancé Loria Allen, and Jeffery Lee and Dana Haggard; the following grandchildren, Benjamin and Angel Haggard, Bryson Haggard, Braxton Haggard, Chloe Haggard, Chelsea Cornn, Johnathon and Adrianne Smith; great grandchildren, Elodie Meece, Savanna Haggard and Roman Smith; her uncle, Cordell and Betty Stevens; her aunt, Francis King; her sister-in-law, Wilma Meece; her brother-in-law, Richard and Judy Haggard; four nephews, Eugene and Ann Meece, Eddie Ray and Judy Meece, Greg Haggard and Shannon Haggard; and a large host of other relatives and friends.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her step-father, Roy Bray; her grandparents, Red Willie and Sciotha Meece and Henry and Betty Stephens; her brothers, Charles and Robert Meece who died in infancy and a brother, Parker Meece; two sisters who also died in infancy, Rosemary and Shelby Jean Meece; her uncles, Alonzo and Ora Meece, James and Hattie Meece, Lester and Altie Meece, Frankie and Bertie Meece and Alonzo and Zelma Stevens; her aunts, Martha and Arthur Bradley, Nannie and Willie Brinson, Nora and Robert Brinson, Dorothy and Perry Meece,  Eliza and Ed Keeney, Geraldean and Alwyn Keeney, Mae and James Ross and two aunts who died in infancy, Christine and Mildred Stephens.
A funeral service for Dortha Mae Haggard will be held at the Pine Hill Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29th with Bro. Don Branscum and Bro. David Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family of Dortha Haggard will receive friends at the Pine Hill Baptist Church on Friday January 28th after 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pine Hill Cemetery Fund, 751 Etna Church Road, Eubank, KY 42567 or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
