Doris Gooch

Doris Ann Gooch, 83 of Eubank Ky passed away on Saturday January 8, 2022 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on February 22,1938 in Somerset to the late Oris and Hazel Gooch of Woodstock. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she served in many capacities throughout her lifetime. Doris was a gentle giving soul that served the Lord through her willingness to always help others around her. She was very talented and enjoyed making special things for her family especially during the Holidays through food and creating special mementos. She was an excellent gardener who loved plants and flowers but the thing she loved most was spending time with her family. Doris had a special gift of making people feel valued, her beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes always showed her loving heart. She married the love of her life, Billy Joe Gooch on June 22, 1955, who preceded her in death on July 9,2020 and was anxiously awaiting to be reunited with her in heaven.

She is survived by her daughters Teresa (Steve) Combs and Betty Gooch; Grandchildren Dustin Brown , Tarah (Clay) Muntz and Payge (Chris) Lines; Great­ Grandchildren Elijah, Ella Kate, Emery and Everly Muntz and several nieces, nephews and cousins who all have fond memories of time spent with her.

Visitation will be Saturday January 22nd, 2022 from 11 am to l pm at Liberty Baptist Church at Crab Orchard. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 with Barry Hurst and Zandall Hasty officiating and her final resting place at Liberty Baptist Church cemetery. The family asks that masks be worn for attendance at all services.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Somerset Nursing and Rehab for their exceptional care for both Doris and Bill over the last few years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Respite Center in Somerset or Hospice of Lake Cumberland .
