Donald L. "Chick" Spears

Donald L. "Chick" Spears, age 84, of Somerset, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the U.K. Medical Center following a short illness.Chick was born June 15, 1933 to the late Arvil and Opal Beasley Spears. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Chick was an employee of the United States Postal Service, where he retired as the West Somerset Postmaster. He was a member of the West Somerset Baptist Church.Chick loved going to Flea Markets, watching UK Basketball, and attending ball games of his grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his beloved dog "Lexi".Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Vernon "Jackie" Spears; and a special aunt and uncle, Grace and Sidgle Sears.Chick is survived by a daughter, Donna Coomer, and a son, Tracy (and Rhonda) Spears, both of Somerset, KY; six grandchildren, Mackie (and Todd) Wilson, B.J. (and Jessica) Coomer, Tyler Spears, Kyle Spears, Scott (and Anna) Spears, and Emily Spears; seven great grandchildren, Logan and Braden Lawson, Donovan and Abby Coomer, Jolene Spears, and Grayson and Nolan Spears; and special friends, Rick and Monica Wiles.A funeral service for "Chick" Spears will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffin and Bro. Chris Neikirk officiating. Burial will follow in the West Somerset Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time for the funeral service.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Donald L.
