Delno L. Meece

Delno Meece, 79, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024.

Delno was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, whose life was marked by love, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys. He was devoted to his wife, Linda Meece, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Delno is survived by their daughter, Carla Blake (Ron Taylor), and their son, Ricky Meece (Barbara Meece). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Heather Ridenour (Scott Ridenour) and Alexis Roberts (Tiffany Roberts) and welcomed Zachary and Madison Black with open arms. His great-grandchildren, Kaidyn and Kennedy Ridenour, and Beckett Roberts brought him endless joy.

Delno was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Meece, and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wallace Meece. He is also reunited with his parents, Leonard "Cat" Meece and Lena Mounce Meece Hunt, and his brothers, Tilman, Eugene, Paul, and Wendell Meece.

Delno found immense happiness in his family and his cherished dog, Holly. His love for the outdoors was evident in the time he spent feeding birds and squirrels, and enjoying the peacefulness of fishing.

His passion for music was a lifelong source of enjoyment. Delno was exceptionally talented in playing the piano and guitar and sharing his rich bass voice in gospel music. His musical gifts were a beacon of faith, touching the lives of others. Throughout his life, Delno held various roles at Cumberland Wood and Chair, Modern Distributors, and even returned to the workforce at Armstrong Flooring after his retirement. His dedication and vibrant spirit left a lasting impact on those who had the
privilege of working alongside him.

Delno will be remembered with great affection by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His faith and love for others will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

A visitation and memorial service celebrating Delno’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Pulaski Funeral Home, 165 KY-2227, Somerset, KY 42503.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service. Delno will be laid to rest at Piney Grove Church #1, 3229 Piney Grove Rd, Somerset, KY 42501.

Though he is deeply missed, Delno’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
