David Michael Yeager, 63, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2018, surrounded by his family at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lori Stonecypher Yeager, his three children, Katie (Tim) McLean; Jordan Yeager; and Joshua (Jenny) Yeager, his parents, Jesse and Georgia Yeager, and his sister, Lisa (John) Davis, and two grandsons, Jesse Michael McLean and Noah Ryan McLean.
Mike was a 1973 graduate of Tates Creek High School, where he was a top cross country runner in the state of Kentucky. After graduation, he purchased his first car, a candy apple red 1967 Pontiac GTO. Mike went on to work for K-Mart corporation for 38 years. At the age of 50, Mike earned his black belt in Taekwondo. He was an avid science fiction fan, especially of Star Trek, and had an impressive collection of Thor comics.
Mike was a member of First Baptist Church of Somerset, KY for over 30 years. One of his favorite memories during this time was a mission trip to Brazil with his son.
Mike’s family invites friends to stop by and visit from the hours of 1-3 PM Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Afterward, a celebration of Mike’s life will be held from 3-4 PM where the family invites friends to share memories and stories.
