Mr. David John Purcell, 85 a resident at Thomson-Hood Veterans Home, entered eternal rest Friday, November 6, 2020 while hospitalized at the VA Hospital in Lexington.
Mr. Purcell was born in the Plato community of Pulaski County December 6, 1934, the son of the late John and Evelyn (Bullock) Purcell.
Mr. Purcell was a Veteran who served in the Air Force receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1957. He then studied and graduated from Western Kentucky University.
He was a member of Burnett's Chapel Methodist Church. He and his wife the late Alene Norton Purcell enjoyed their church and shared a love of gospel and bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alene Norton Purcell who he married January 27, 1961. He was preceded in death by his daughter Melinda and (Dan) Hunter. Survivors include his Daughter Melanie and (Brett) Williams of Raleigh, NC. his Brother Donald and (Louanna) Purcell of Somerset, KY, Grandchildren Spencer Williams and Ramsey Williams, Hannah and (Bill) Semones and Collin Hunter, Great Grandchildren Quinn and Scout Semones.
Burial Service will be held at the gravesite in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery in Rockcastle County, KY on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 1:00pm.
