Chester Ray Moore

Mr. Chester Ray Moore, son of the late Charlie Franklin and Aquilla Haste Moore, was born in Casey County, KY on March 13, 1928 and he departed this life in the presence of his family on June 22, 2020 having attained the age of 92 years 3 months and 9 days. He was united in Marriage to Dorothy Jean Moran on November 29, 1952 in Ludlow, KY, she preceded him in death on April 10, 1977. Also preceding him in death were; four brothers, John, Roscoe, Ira, and William; two sisters, Stella Hamilton and Lois Randolph Survivors include; one son, Donnie (and Sheila) Moore of Science Hill, KY, two daughters, Debbie VanHook and Sherry (and Gary) Martin of Science Hill, KY; eight grandchildren, Trina Moore of Fentress County, TN, Terry Moore of Science Hill, Jake (and Jesse) Moore of Port St. Lucie, FL, Ashley (and Matt) Cooper of Somerset. Kelsey (and Brandon) Davis of Somerset, Jessica VanHook of Somerset, Casey Denney of Science Hill, and Logan (and Lauryn) Denney of Science Hill, thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Chester was a Korean War Marine veteran. He was always proud to be an American and a Marine. He was also employed for more than 12 years with the Lake Cumberland Funeral Livery Service where he enjoyed serving the families that the member funeral homes served. He was a fun loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Altman officiating. Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the Funeral home at the time of the service by the American Legion Post # 38. The family of Mr. Chester Ray Moore will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020, and from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time for services.
