Carol "Sue" Vaught, 80 of Dabney, passed away after a long battle with cancer at the Jean Waddle Care Center on August 19, 2020.She was the daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Vilda Shepard Evans. She was united in marriage to the late Jackie K. Vaught on May 20, 1956. He preceded her in death. Survivors include; one son, James "Ernie" Vaught of the Dabney Community; one daughter, Vilda Jean Vaught Begley of the Saline Community; five grandchildren; Crystal (and Levi) Constant of Somerset; Kristopher (and Ashtyn) Begley of Georgetown, IN, Joshua Begley of New Albany, IN, Hunter (and Samantha) Vaught of Waynesburg, KY, and Charles Matthew (and Allyson) Vaught of Lexington, KY; eight great grandchildren, Kendall and Knox Constant of Somerset, Taylor and Jack Begley of Georgetown, IN, Brooke, Trenton and Riley Vaught of Waynesburg, KY and Merdith Sue Vaught of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Pat Whitaker of Somerset and Linda Cash of Eubank, KY; one brother, Ernest Lee Evans of Versailles, KY and a special sister-in-law, Delores Irvine of West Chester, OH. and a very Special Friend, Lillian Hawk. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers one,who died at birth, and Jimmie Evans, the following brothers-in-law, Charlie Bob Vaught, James Irvine, Charles Whitaker, Leonard Herrin, James Denney, and Don Cash; and the following sisters-in-law, Charlene Denney, Mary Lou Vaught and Betty Jones Herrin. She was a member of the Nelson Valley Baptist Church where she taught sunday school for many years, and avid bowler and her bowling record still remains in the 700 Club. She was also active with the Somerset Little League and Babe Ruth and was later very active with the Southwest High School Baseball prograrm as her grandsons grew and remain in those sports. She was an employee at Decker's Drugs during her early years of marriage, she also worked at Finley's Drive In and she retired from Modern Vending She loved all Things sports, and was a very dedicated UK Fan. The family would like to convey their gratitude to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and their crisis team. She was a kind lady who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 PM Saturday, August 22, 2020 until time for services. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Additional information will be forth coming.
