Carl C.J. Jonathan Eugene Bray

Carl "C. J." Bray, 28, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Blountville, Tennessee. He was born June 17, 1996, to Michael Joe Bray and Crystal (Varner) Smith and was raised by his aunt "mom" Shelley and Uncle "dad" Bill Phelps. from the time he was 10 months old.

C.J. had a great personality and was very friendly and outgoing. He loved people and was loved by people in return. C.J. had many friends and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, a daughter Chloe Isabelle Bray, his aunt "mom" Shelley Phelps, five brothers; Jacob Varner, Jeremiah Varner, Barry Phelps, Caleb Freeman and Maverick Hodge, three sisters; Claudette Varner, Carla Wells, and Savannah Phelps, his grandmother, Sue Franse as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Joe Bray, his uncle "dad" Bill Phelps, one brother, Michael Gary Bray, one uncle, Carl Franse, a great grandmother, Glenda Phelps and his grandfather John Franse,

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 12:00 PM till time for services in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M.

Burial will follow in Pine Thicket Cemetery.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Carl C.J. Bray Memorial Fund c/o Pulaski Funeral Home.
