Billy Crabtree

Billy Gene Crabtree, also known by family and friends as Bill, Crabs and Crabby, age 83, of Bronston, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Signature HealthCare of McCreary County Rehab and Wellness Center, Pine Knot, Kentucky.

He was born on February 1,1942 in Bronston, Kentucky son of the late Esker and Rena Dalton Crabtree.

Billy was a member of the Scottsburg Masonic Lodge #572, Scottsburg, Indiana. Billy was a grocery store owner for several years in VeVay, Indiana and later an assistant manager for Austin Supermarket, Austin, Indiana. After his retirement and for several years, he spent his time behind both sides of the bar. Billy never met a stranger and especially liked flirting with the ladies.

Billy is survived by his daughter Melissa (Lisa) Crabtree, grandson,David J. Crabtree, great grand son Logan A. Crabtree, all of Lexington, Indiana, granddaughter Alexa L. Henry and son-in-law John Henry, both of North Vernon, Indiana, brother Roger Crabtree, Lorain, Ohio, brother-in-laws JC New and Conley Mayfield, both of Bronston, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews and good friends at Echo Point who were like family to him.

Pulaski Funeral Home is entrusted with the cremation of Billy Gene Crabtree.

At this time and at the request of Billy Gene Crabtree, there will be no visitation or service held for him but the family will have a graveside service at later date to be determined, so Billy's ashes can be buried with his daughter Cindy L. Crabtree's ashes in Hollars Cemetery, Bronston, Kentucky.
