Billy Cody

Billy Neil Cody, 76, passed from this life on October 4, 2023 at The Jean Waddle Care Center. He was born on December 30, 1946 in Morristown, Tennessee. 

He was an avid golfer and especially cherished the time spent playing with his daughter traveling around the state to play in golfing tournaments, many of which they won. In recent years, you could find him on the ball fields watching his grand kids play sports, there he was known as "Papaw" to many and he was their biggest fan! He started his own company, AmCon Inc. in 1989 which he operated until his retirement in 2017. He was a member of The Science Hill Church of the Nazarene. 

He leaves behind his wife, Vickie, a daughter Meranda, grandson Tayden Billy and a granddaughter, Taylee Victoria. as well as Loran who he loved like a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his in-laws; Thomas and Lavone Sexton, whom he cherished, his brother and a sister in-law; Eddy and Judy Cody.

Visitation for Bill will be held at The Science Hill Church of the Nazarene, Monday, October 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a service to follow.

Pallbearers will be "Papaw's Boys" Tayden, Skylar, Isaiah, Tyson, Tyler, Chase, Ben, Braden, and Eyan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Taylee and "Papaw's Girls". 

Bill's final resting place will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by American Legion Post #38.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
