Mrs. Betty Jane Lester Swartz, daughter of the late William F. and Della Lou Butt Lester, was born at Science Hill, Kentucky on Monday, October 10, 1927 and she departed this life at Somerset, Kentucky on Thursday, May 4, 2017 having attained the age of 89 years.She was united in marriage to Mr. Richard "R.T." Swartz on December 07, 1947, he preceded her in death.Survivors include; one son, Edwin Thomas "E.T." Swartz (and Shelia Sears) of Somerset, Kentucky; one daughter, Kathy Swartz (and Dale) Tatro of Somerset, Kentucky;granddaughters, Christie Swartz of Somerset, KY, Megan Ashley Swartz of Columbia, Kentucky; Grandsons, Richard Lewis Swartz, James William Cooper (and Maeghan Casale) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Todd McClure (and Amanda Katelyn) Cooper of Norfolk, Virginia and a great granddaughter, Peyton Cooper; Step-granddaughters, Molly Smith Cross, and Megan Smith Davis and one nephew, Billy Lester.Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by; one son, Gary Lynn Swartz; one sister, Helen Wheeldon; and two brothers, Edwin and Charles Lester.Betty was a member of the St. Mildred Catholic Church, and a retiree from Palm Beach Clothing Manufacturing Company. She was a lovely lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy, Kentucky.The family of Mrs. Betty Jane Swartz will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm Monday, May 8th, 2017.In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Mrs. Betty Swartz during this time.
