Betty Jean McWhorter

Betty Jean McWhorter, 90, of Somerset passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Somerset Nursing & Rehab.

She was born in Brodhead, Kentucky on July 12, 1930; daughter of the late Clayton and Elizabeth Lawrence Evans. She was a devoted member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church. Betty was an unbelievable cook, who enjoyed cooking for her family. Known for always keeping a clean house, she would ask her family to take their shoes off before coming in her home.

She was survived by her son, Michael McWhorter of Louisville a sister, Barbara & (Orion) Bell of Louisville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A special place was held in Betty's heart for Beth Sparrow for her unselfish devotion to her care throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. McWhorter; her parents, Clayton and Elizabeth Lawrence Evans; a sister, Dorothy Sparrow of Memphis; and a brother, Ray Evans of Louisville.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 3 PM Monday, December 21, 2020 at Pulaski Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 3:45 PM Monday, December 21, 2020 at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Brodhead, Kentucky, where interment will follow.
