Bertha Hargis Taylor

Bertha Hargis Taylor, daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Ping Slavey was born at East Somerset, KY on September  14th, 1932 and she departed this life on November 23rd, 2022 having attained the age of 90 years.

She was first united in marriage to Mr. Vestle Hargis, he preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage to Freddie Taylor who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by; one son, Randy (and Linda) Hargis of Somerset, KY; one sister, Joyce Hall of Somerset, KY; six grandchildren, Vickie (and Chad) King, Debra (and Tony) New, Miranda (and Will) Turner, Mark (and Vonda) Herrin, and Amy (and Casey) Wethington, and Toni Michelle Brumback Peltzer; 14 great grandchildren, Heather (and Tyler) Heuberger, Shawna Walden  (and Cain Rodriguez), Jacob New (and Leighann Reynolds),  James New (and Kaelyn Conway), Jalyn Murphy, Luke Wethington, LillyAnn Wethington, Reese Herrin, Gabriel Turner, Alexander Turner, Randalin Turner, Tytan Turner, Odelia Turner, and Emily Brumback; and 8 great great grandchildren, Alexander Rodriguez, Jax Walden, Preston Vanhook, Weston Vanhook, Camila Rodriguez, Gracelynn Vanhook, Paisley Heuberger and Barrett New.

Other than her parents and both husbands, she was also preceded in death by; her daughter, Brenda Herrin,  son-in-law George Herrin, and her brother-in-law, Donald Hall.

Bertha was a kind lady. She worked for many years as a Pressor for Palm Beach Manufacturing and she was a member of the Flat Lick Baptist church where she was active as long as her health would permit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

A funeral service will be held at Flat Lick Baptist Church on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 1 PM with Rev. Gerald Ashely officiating. Burial will be in Barnesburg, Cemetery.

The family of Bertha Hargis Taylor will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Pulaski Funeral Home and after 11 AM Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Flat Lick Baptist Church.
