Audrey Iva Dean Murphy, daughter of the late Cicero and Pearlie Mounce Meece, was born at White Lily on June 12, 1931 and she departed this life on January 20, 2019 having attained the age of 87 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Russell Murphy, he preceded her in death.Survivors include; two step children, Denny and Rita Murphy; one sister, Linda Mae Roberts; a sister-in-law, Fern Meece and a large host of nephews, nieces and cousins whom she loved as her own children. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by; five brothers, Hobert, Wesley, James, and Jesse Meece and Cicero Meece, Jr. who died in infancy; and three sisters, Lena Sears, Edith Goff and Mada Meece who died in infancy. Iva Dean was a seamstress for Palm Beach Manufacturing for more than 40 years prior to her retirement there, she was also a member of the Pitman Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, canning, gardening, helping animals in distress. She loved every part of Gods creation and she loved people. The family would like to convey a special thanks to Mr. Cecil Goff, Jr. for his kindness and dedication in the care of Iva Dean during the past several months, they would also like to thank the compassionate staff of Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Hospice of Lake Cumberland for their loving kindness. Mrs. Murphy will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn her passing. A funeral service for Mrs. Audrey Iva Dean Murphy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 25th at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pitman Creek Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Iva Dean Murphy will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time for services.
