Audrey B. Hargis

Audrey B. Hargis age 83 of Somerset, KY, passed away from this life Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at her home. Audrey was born June 11, 1935 to the late Elder Vestal and Martha Meece in Pulaski County, KY. Audrey was married to the love of her life, Mr. Kenneth S. Hargis on July 19, 1950. He preceded her in death. Audrey was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church # 1 where she served as Sunday School teacher for many years. She taught the Word of God to elementary and mentally challenged students. Audrey was a part of the White Lily Fire Department Ladies Axillary. She loved her flowers, gardening, yard sales and consignment stores. Audrey is survived by her daughter, Lynn (and Bro. David) Harmon of Somerset; two granddaughters, Keri (Arin) Mackay of Latonia, KY, Kendra (Butch) Tincher of London, KY; three great grandsons, Trace, Barrett, and Jakob Mackay; two brothers, Delbert (Bonnie) Meece of Ohio; and Ralph Leon Meece of Somerset; one sister-in-law, Jean Meece of Ohio; one brother-in-law, Bro. Lowell (Minnie) Gossett of Somerset and a long time friend of the family, Melinda Freeman, and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth and an infant son, James Ralphburn Hargis; one brother, Ray Meece; two sisters, Nova Vanhook Holmes and Nona Gossett; and two brothers-in-law, Harold Vanhook and John Holmes. The family of Mrs. Audrey B. Hargis will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donald Kennedy and Bro. Charles Meece officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to  the Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Clay Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
