Alma Ruth Warren, of the Blue John Community and daughter of the late William Virgil and Laura Virginia Barrett Howard, was born at Parkers Lake, Kentucky on July 5th, 1937 and she departed this life on May 20th, 2023 in Lexington, Kentucky having attained the age of 85 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. James Norman Warren on July 5th, 1958 and they enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2022.
She is survived by her children, James William Warren and Anita (Warren) Smith, five grandchildren; Julie Warren, Jillian Bohannon, Michael Thomeczek; Tate Smith and Paige Warren as well as three great grandchildren, Alex Warren, Jaylen Bohannon and Oliver Smith; two sisters, Alvina Pomroy and Alfreda Ogle and three brothers, Grover Lee Howard, Carl Vernon Howard and Jimmy Ray Howard.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Thomeczek; one brother, Herbert Howard, and five sisters, Mildred Vanover, Lee Rose Anderson, Ellsie Wylie, Flonnie Gates, Sue Whitehead and Mary Benfield.
Ruth was a member of the Walkers Chapel Baptist Church and when she was active, she enjoyed canning the vegetables her garden produced, she also liked to crochet and enjoyed working puzzles. Her family was also at the top of her list, and she loved being around them. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
A funeral service for Alma Ruth Warren will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25th, 2023 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Jon Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Alma Ruth Warren will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time for services.
