Allene Dye

Allene Faye (Harper) Dye, 91, of Somerset, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019.

She was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on July 24, 1928; daughter of the late John Nelson and Doritha Bea (Phelps) Harper. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William Claude Dye, whom she married on July 28, 1945 and who passed away on September 5, 2015. To this union there were three children, a son, William Charles & (Midge) Dye of Somerset; a daugther, Brenda Sue (Dye) Coner of Science Hill; a daughter-in-law, Janice (Coner) Dye of Nancy; and a late son, Paul Eugene Dye. She retired from Watsons Department Store after 27 years of service. She was a homemaker, who also helped on the family farm. She was saved at the camp meeting revival before Nelson Valley Baptist Church was built in 1939. Survivors also include, two brothers, James O. Harper, and Vergis Harper both of Somerset; a sister, Jewell Bea (Harper) Mercer of Science Hill; grandchildren, Charles & (Cara) Dye, Patrick & (Dawana) Dye, Billy & (Angela) Dye, Mollie & (Jason) Neal, David Dye, Jonathan & (Angie) Dye, Sarah & (Craig) Wesley; great-grandchildren, Katie Elizabeth Dye, Kaitlyn Dye, Anna Allene Dye, Jonathan Roderick Dye, Charles Benjamin Dye, Jimmy James Dye, Jason Dye, Jonathan Dye, McKinsey Raha Dye, Sarah Elizabeth Hacker, Nicholas Eric Hacker, Isabelle Marie Neal, and Joshua Neal; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Leonard Ed Coner; a daughter-in-law, Pat (Eastham) Dye; and three sisters, Ophie Brower, Ora Mahaffey, and Anna Warren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2019 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Ernest Warren and Bro. Joe Warren officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Monday, September 30, 2019 at Pulaski Funeral Home until time for services.
