Alfreda Tuggle, 89, of Somerset passed away Saturday, Nov. 19 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Alfreda was born on June 26, 1933 in the Bent community; daughter of the late Beulah Mize Tarter and Raymond Tarter. Alfreda was a 1950 graduate of Eubank High School, and an employee of Palm Beach Company where she worked for 40 years until her retirement. She was an accomplished seamstress and received several awards in high school. She was a life long member of High Street Baptist Church. Alfreda loved her family, and was a quiet solid presence in all of their lives.
She and Arvis G. Tuggle were married on March 27, 1953, thery were happily married for 53 years until Arvis' death on Sept. 21, 2006. They were blessed with two daughters, Vickie Dungan, and Patty Dungan; three grandchildren, Amy Gibson, Greg & (Teya) Dungan and Patrick Dungan; four great-grandsons, Braden Weddle, Jordan Phelps, Daylan Dungan, and Gabe Dungan; siblings, Wayne & (Ellen) Tarter; half-siblings, Eugene & (Joyce) Adkins, Dale & (Carol) Adkins, Gerdine Sears, Maxine Bell, and Fern & (Rodger) Katter; special friends, Doris Rice, Linda Roberts, Joyce Adkins of Arizona, and Liz Floyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Ronald Tarter; two sons-in-law, Dale Dungan and Joe Dungan; and a granddaughter, Leslie Dungan.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022 at Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Baker officiating.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022 until time for services.
