Alden Phelps

Alden Ray Phelps, 61, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Oneida, Tennessee.

He was born January 6, 1964 in Somerset, Kentucky to James Irvin and Elsie Marie Hall Phelps. Alden was of the Baptist faith and in his younger years attended Dripping Springs Baptist Church where he was baptized. Alden worked with handicapped children and was employed by the Pulaski County School System where he worked with special needs students and coached tennis. Later he was an employee of BRASS where he was a coordinator and Combs Residential where he was was a caregiver to the mentally handicapped, he loved the people in his care and was a excellent caregiver to them. He loved being outdoors riding his side by side, hunting deer and fishing. His hobbies included painting woodcrafts and sports. The thing that he most enjoyed was spending time with his family and the people he loved where many precious memories were made.

Alden is survived by his brothers; Gary Phelps, Jonathan (Kathy) Phelps, sisters; Linda Marie Phelps, Jennifer Taylor, Debbie (Donnnie) Todd, Darlene Murphy, Sherri (Paul) Bubnick, Pamela (Mike) Burdine, Barbara (Tony DePrato) Phelps, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones who will miss him dearly but cherish the all of the great memories that were made.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, one brother, James "Jim" Irvin Phelps, a sister, Judy Allen, two brothers in law, Gary Taylor and Kendall Murphy, a niece, Missy Taylor, a nephew, Donnie Todd Jr., and his aunt, Freeda Murphy.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Cox officiating.

Burial will follow in the Phelps Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.
