Arlene Mofield VanHook, age 76 of Somerset, KY died March 6, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was the wife of the late Curtis VanHook whom she married on December 31, 1949 in Science Hill, KY. She was born in King Bee in Pulaski County, KY, the daughter of the late Louis Marion and Flonnie Dick Mofield.
She was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. Arlene had taught children's Sunday School in Bowling Green, KY, Florence, SC and Homestead, FL.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan VanHook Hinkley and her husband Jim of Lexington, KY; one son, Dan VanHook and his wife Donna of Austin, TX; four grandsons, James Randell Hinkley III and Cameron Curtis Hinkley of Lexington, KY and Geoffery Raymond VanHook and Joseph Michael VanHook of Austin, TX; five sisters, Lidia Mofield Dye and her husband Marcus of Fort Wayne, IN, Doris Mofield Bailey and her husband Don of Cincinnati, OH, Dene Mofield Waddle and her husband Bob of Lexington, NC, ToyLee Mofield Hall and her husband Rev. Bert Hall of Science Hill,Ky and Patty Mofield Albricht of Dayton, OH; and two brothers, Jack Mofield of Stanford, KY and Tom Mofield and his wife Glenna of Eubank, KY. Arlene leaves and extended family; Eulene VanHook Zimmerman, and Eula Chaney VanHook of Indiana; Edwin Vanhook and his wife Wilma of Science Hill, KY and Louie VanHook and his wife Ethel of Somerset, KY and Vencon VanHook and his wife Zena of Falls of the Rough, KY and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Arlene VanHook will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Sunday and after 8:00 a.m. Monday until after services.
Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
