Johnie (John) Andrew Burris

Johnie "John" Andrew Burris, age 71, of Indian Hills Subdivision, Somerset, KY, departed this life of February 6, 2007 in the presence of his loving family at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on December 21, 1935 in the Alpha Community of Wayne County, KY. He is the son of the late Thomas Nathan and Vertie Lee McGinnis Burris. John Burris is survived by his wife, Anna Lee Smith Burris whom he married in 1953 at Albany, KY; one son, Bobby Burris and his wife Gale of Bronston, KY; three daughters, Doris Goff and her husband James of Somerset, KY, Debbie Branscum and her husband Willard of the Delta Community of Wayne County, KY and Jennifer Minton and her husband Tim of Bronston, KY; also surviving are seven grandchildren, Robin Goff and his wife Laurie of Science Hill, KY Justin Goff and his wife Jessica of Somerset, KY, Heather Burris of Science Hill, KY Beth Curry and her husband Chad of Somerset, KY, Thomas Burris of Bronston, KY and Kyle Minton and Cassie Minton of Bronston, KY; and seven great grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, Toby, and Jorden Goff and Logan, Alley and Libby Curry; three brothers, Willie and Sam Burris of Indiana, and Dean Burris and his wife Brenda of Clinton County, KY; and one sister, Ruby Humphrey and her husband Pat of Glasgow, KY. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; two sisters-in-law, Lillian and Alene Burris. John was a member of the Penticostal Faith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Mullins and Bro. Gilbert Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. John Burris will receive friends at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Thursday February 8, 2007. The family of Mr. John Burris requests that in Leiu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Harvest Time Assembly of God Building Fund.
