Frances Parker Waring of Sadieville, Kentucky, was born on April 19, 1908 in Sadieville, Kentucky and she departed this life peacefully on Saturday, February 03, 2007 in Somerset, Kentucky having attained the age of 98 years.
Frances was the daughter of the late William and Addie Parker and was united in marriage to Mr. William Thomas Warring on June 29, 1929. They spent 63 wonderful years together until William's death on July 24, 1992.
Frances is survived by one son; Mr. Clay Parker Davis (and his wife Sheryn)of Somerset, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law, Rochelle Davis of Lexington, Kentucky; four grandchildren; Jodie Davis Owings (and her husband Scott), Susanne Davis, Monica Carroll and Sandy Coons (and her husband Galen); five great grandchildren, Camron Owings, Ashlyn Owings, Jimmy Carroll, Jeffery Carroll, and Alicia Coons; and one great great grandson, Aaron Michael Carroll.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by; two sons, John Warring Davis, and William Emory Davis; her four brothers, Angus, Rex, Roy and Johnny Parker; one sister, Katie Belle Davis; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Slone Davis and one grandson, Derrick Emory Davis.
Frances lived in Sadieville, Kentucky until she moved to "the Neighborhood" Assisted Living Facility in Somerset, Kentucky in February of 2003. She was a member of the Sadieville Christian Church since 1921 where she played the piano and the organ for 76 years. She was also a member of the Sadieville Christian Church Missionary Society and the Loyal Sunday School Class of the church. She enjoyed a 40 year teaching career, with the first being in a one room school at Porter and then fourth grade at the Sadieville School. Her love for children and people never ceased and she was considered by many as the Florence Nightengale of Sadieville; always willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend who needed assistance. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Frances was a former member of the Sadieville Ladies Auxiliary and the Sadieville Homemakers Club where she was active as long as her health permitted. She loved to travel and made many trips with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by many people.
Those who will be willing to serve as Pallbearers are, Sam Penn, Bobby Warring, Billy Wilson, Ray Hiten, Ken Wilson, and Raymond Morrison; Honorary Pallbearerers include, Marjorie Barrett, Imadene Brinson, Ann White, Louise Rogers-Faulconer, Margie Veatch and Rebecca Sams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 07, 2007 at the Chapel of the Johnson Funeral Home in Georgetown, Kentucky, with Bro. Bob Shannon and Bro. Michael Halcomb officiating. Burial will follow in the Sadieville Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Frances Parker Warring will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Monday, February 05, 2007 from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 06, 2007 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Georgetown, Kentucky also from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
