Mrs. Mattie Flynn, daughter of the late Virgil and Samantha Griffin, of Clinton, Tennessee,formerly of Estesburg, Kentucky, was born on January 15, 1907 and she departed this life peacefully on Friday evening, February 02, 2007 at the Beverly Healthcare Nursing Home in Clinton, Tennessee having attained the age of 100 years. Mattie was the mother of; seven children, F. Landis, Sylvia, Nathalia, Jack, Billie, Dale and Jerry Back, all of which have preceded her in death except Jerry. Mattie lived most of her life in Somerset, Kentucky. She was a homemaker and she worked for the United Department Store for 10 years. She was a life long member of the Church of Christ. She outlived two husbands, Samuel O. Back; the father of her children, and Mr. T. E. Flynn. Mattie has been a resident of the Beverly Healthcare Nursing Home in Clinton, Tennessee for a little over three years, where she recently celebrated her 100th birthday with twenty-seven of her relatives and friends from five different states present. Other than her son, she is also survived by 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. One of her favorite comments was; "When you have lived this long, you have outlived all of your friends and most of your relatives." Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 07, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Ferlin Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Eubank Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Mattie Flynn will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 06, 2007. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with all funeral details for Mrs. Mattie Flynn.
