Charles F. Pierce

Mr. Charles F. Pierce, son of the late Hugh and Lola Tarter Pierce, was born on August 11, 1913 and he departed this life in the presence of his family on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at his residence, having attained the age of 93 years. He was united in marriage to Edith Merrick Pierce on December 23, 1935 and she preceded him in death on July 18, 1944. He was later united in marriage to Grace Ard Pierce who also preceded him in death on January 16, 2006. Survivors include two sons; Wayne (and Diann) Pierce and Milburn Pierce and his fiancée; Gail Roberts); 5 grandchildren, Robby Pierce, Vickie Elkin, Kendra Girdler, Kevin Pierce, and Keith Pierce; 10 great grandchildren, Marine Corporal Eric Walker Jr., Kristine Pierce, Lauren Pierce, Benjamin Combs, Alysa Combs, Makenzie Girdler, Bailey Pierce, Cameron Pierce, Parker Pierce, and Cohl Pierce; one great great grandchild, Eric “Tripp” Walker III; one sister, Mavis Wesley of Somerset, KY; and one brother, Russell Pierce of Jamestown, KY. Other than his parents and two wives, he was preceded in death by; one daughter, Lola Pierce Ginger; one brother, Hugh Pierce; and four sisters, Mabel Thompson, Willie Ard, Ruth Molen and Josephine Landers; and two granddaughters, Stephanie & Kristie Pierce. Charles was the retired owner of Pierce’s Jewelry, and he was an active member of the Somerset Masonic Lodge #111 for many years. He was also a Deacon at Saline Baptist Church for many years and has also served as a Deacon of the Parkers Mill Road Baptist Church since its founding. Between both churches, he has served continuously in the capacity of a Deacon for more than 50 years. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who both mourn his passing and celebrate his home going. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Tarter Cemetery at Nancy, KY. The family of Mr. Charles F. Pierce will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to serve and be entrusted with all funeral arrangements for Mr. Charles F. Pierce and his family.
