Stella Adams, daughter of the late Richard E. and Nancy Jane Hash Baker, was born in the Ano Community of Pulaski County, KY on August 6, 1914 and she departed this life on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY having attained the age of 92 years.
She was first united in marriage to Mr. Bruce Burdine for 31 years until his death; Six children blessed this union, four of which survive, Willard (and Mildred) Burdine of Brookston,IN, Doris (and John) Wright of Coal City, IN, Mary Lou (and Melvin) McWhirter of Greenwood, IN and Rosalea (and Charles) Bullock of Somerset, KY, also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Kay Burdine of Indianapolis, IN and one Son-in-law, Robert McWhirter also of Indianapolis, IN.
She was later married to Mr. George Nelson Adams for eight years until his death.
Other than her parents, and both husbands, she was also preceded in death by two children; Edgar Burdine and Willene McWhirter; five brothers and three sisters.
Stella was a loving homemaker and she was a member of the Sinking Valley Baptist Church. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Goforth and Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery near Ano in Eastern Pulaski County.
The family of Mrs. Stella Adams will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday night, November 28, 2006.
