Mrs. Opal Meece

Opal Marie (Goff) Meece, daughter of the late Oscar Eli and Anna Hughes Goff, was born in Pulaski County, KY on September 24, 1923 and she departed this life on Monday, November 8, 2010 in Lexington, KY having attained the age of 87 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Hobert Meece, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; two daughters, Donna (and James) Thompson of Lexington, Kentucky and Lois Davis of Ferguson, KY; one brother, Mr. Charles (and Madge) Goff of Somerset, KY; four grandchildren, Steve Davis, Tisha Hardison, Tracy Browning and Tamara Clifton, and 13 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren When she was active, Opal and Hobert lived in Louisville for more than 40 years, she was a Sales Associate for Childrens Shoes a homemaker and a member of the Gardiner Church of Christ. She adhered to the Church of Christ Faith. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Evangelist, Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Opal Meece will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 until time for services.
