Mrs. Ilene Hutton Weddle, 90, formerly of Somerset, KY passed away Monday, October 18, 2010, at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wake Forest, NC, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Weddle, the daughter of the late Ethel "Ess" and Ida Belle Vanhoosier Stevens, was born in Faubush, KY on May 9, 1920. She attended school in Nancy, KY, and later obtained her G.E.D. certificate. She worked at Bob's Cafe in Science Hill, the Southern Bell Telephone Company in Somerset, was a receptionist at Somerset Undertaking Company and for many years was a bookkeeper at People's Tobacco Warehouse in Somerset.
Mrs. Weddle was the widow of Douglas F. Hutton, a Pulaski County Sheriff's deputy, who was killed in the line of duty. She later married Euclid E. Weddle, a retired Detroit Police sergeant and a veteran of the U.S. Marines who served during World War II, he also preceded her in death.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers. She leaves her daughter Linda Hutton Breed, son-in-law Allen G. Breed, and granddaughter Miana Breed, all of Wake Forest, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Ilene Hutton Weddle will receive friends at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Friday until after services.
