Ethel Reed

Mrs. Ethel Holland Reed, of Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Estill and Lillie McIntosh Holland was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on September 19, 1938 and departed this life on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at her residence in the presence of her family having attained the age of 71. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one sister; Fay Holland, two brothers; Jasper and J.C. Holland. She is survived by her husband; Noah Reed, five children; Robert James (and Beth) Reed of Somerset, Jeanette (and Bennie) Golf of Somerset, Brenda Faye (and Lewis) Thacker of Hazard, Sharon (and Major) Fyffe of Somerset, David (and Angel) Reed of Somerset, two sisters; Margaret Miller and Donnie White both of Hazard, three brothers; Thomas Holland of Scottsburg, Indiana, Granville Holland of Indiana and Sam Holland of Nancy, Kentucky. Ethel is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who all mourn her passing. Ethel was a homemaker and a member of Bannyman Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Somerset with Rev. Danny Pace officiating. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Ethel Reed will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Immanuel Baptist Church.
