Rita Ann Roudebush Williams, of Somerset , KY , left this life to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of July 22, 2010. Rita was born on January 30, 1928 in Vincennes , Indiana to Jess and Robertine Roudebush. She married Charles A. Williams, Somerset , KY , on December 26, 1948. Rita is survived by her two daughters, Denise Williams Salter (and husband Jeff Salter), Cathy Williams Lenox (and husband Glenn Lenox), all of Somerset, KY; her five grandchildren, David (and Angel) Salter, Bossier City, LA, Scott (and Elizabeth) Lenox, Nashville, TN, Julie (and Jack) Moers, Somerset, Sharon Lenox, Somerset, John (and Megan) Lenox, Evansville, IN; her seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kenzie, and Levi Salter, Jude Lenox, Jacob and Jessica Moers, Gwendolyn Lenox; and many nieces and nephews across the US. Rita’s love of music was heard in every aspect of her life. She sang and played the piano and organ in all of the cities and churches where she lived - Vincennes , IN , Shreveport , LA , Covington , LA , Dallas , TX , and Somerset , KY. Rita served her Lord using her talents of music, organization and teaching by singing solos and in the choir, by working on various committees in church, community and Gideons, and by teaching in Sunday school. Rita, a generous and compassionate woman, put others’ needs before her own. Welcoming Rita in heaven are her husband, Charles and their infant daughter Sheri Louise Williams, her parents, Jess and Robertine Roudebush, her sister, Mary Lou Cruzen, and her aunt and uncle, Florence and Lee LeGarde. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, from 5pm to 8pm at First Baptist Church of Somerset, KY. A celebration service will be held at First Baptist Church of Somerset, KY on Saturday morning at 10am. Burial will follow the service at Bishop Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, the family requests expression of sympathy to be made by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through donations of Bibles through the Gideons International.
