Mr. Albert J. "Shade" Bullock entered into this life on September 13, 1927 and "Shade Passed away on October 13, 2006 at his residence after a long illness.
He was born at Somerset, KY and he resided in Cincinnati, OH for 20 years then moved back to home in the Bent Community in 1972.
He was a veteran of World War II and continued his military service with the National Guard and was a graduate of Somerset Business College.
His life in the Bent was devoted to community service which involved setting up and equiping Shopville Fire Department where he was the Fire Chief for 2 years.
He was a self employed heavy equipment operator aand an avid fisherman and hunter. He had a great love for the outdoors and his family.
Survivors include his wife; Virginia Pauline Herrin Bullock; one son, Michaeel Bullock of Somerset, KY; one daughter, Rosetta (and Bob) Popp of Indiana; one sister, Mary (and Wayne) Powers of Lexington, KY; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Logan and Martha Bullock; four brothers, Robert Layton, Johnny,B., Jack and Ralph Bullock; three sisters, Verlie Black, Thelma Erp, and Joyce Hargis; one son, Kenneth J. Bullock; and one daughter, Beverely Lynn Bullock.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006 with burial following in the Pine Thicket Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38
The family of Mr. Albert "Shade" Bullock will recieve friends following a Masonic Service at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m Monday, October 16, 2006.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
