Mrs. Ruth "Granny" Mounce

Ruth Edna Jones Mounce, daughter of the late James Percie and Rachel Delilah Sears Jones, was born at Pumpkin Hollow, KY on March 23, 1917, and she departed this life in the presence of her family on Friday, June 4, 2010, having attained the age of 93 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Samuel Mounce. He preceded her in death. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Mounce; 2 infant sons, and 9 brothers and sisters. ? Survivors include three daughters, Louise (and Dalton) King of Louisville, KY, Joann (and Danny) Parringin of Bronston, KY, Linda (and Kenneth) Brown, of Sloans Valley, KY; nine grandchildren, Jason (and Debbie) LaRue, Jimmy (and Janice) Troxell, Sandy LaRue, Kathi (and Gary) Mosley, Glen Brown, Jennifer Whitlow, Karen Davis, Paul Shelton, and Tracy (and Doug) Boyd ; 13 great grandchildren, James Samuel Troxell, Jessica Davis, Casey LaRue, Eric Carter, Brittany (and Jarrod) Perkins, Christopher Brown, Ashley (and Allen) Hash, Samantha Whitlow, Cody Whitlow, Tanner Brown, Hunter Davis, Hannah Davis, and Allison Boyd; and six great great grandchildren Summer, Mia, Logan, Jace Perkins, Cayden Petrarca, and Zoey Hash. Ruth was a kind person. She enjoyed her family, singing, gardening, quilting, cooking, and canning. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives, and friends who mourn her passing. ? Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Gilbert Robinson officiating. ? The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010. Burial will follow at Grave Hill Cemetery, in Tateville, Kentucky .
