Mrs. Geneva Meece, daughter of the late Paris Frank and Minnie Ellen Hargis Meece, was born at Dykes, KY on November 7, 1920 and she departed this life in the presence of her family on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 having attained the age of 89 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Ellis Meece, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; one son, Jerry (and Sarah) Meece of Newcastle, IN; one daughter, Glenda (and Harold) Rose of Somerset, KY; one sister, Christine Meece of Somerset, KY; seven grandchildren, Eddie Rose, James Rose, Jacob Meece, Lee Meece, Cory Meece, Danny Rivers, and Denney Rivers.; 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two step-children; James and Kenneth Meece; three brothers, Virgil, Harvey, and Bill Meece; and three sisters, Bertha Meece, Corda Baker, and Sarah Meece.
Geneva was a kind person, and a member of the White Lily Baptist Church from an early age. She enjoyed her family, Singing, gardening, Quilting, Cooking, and Canning. When she was active, she cleaned houses for people and was at church every time the doors were open. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Meece will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Eggers and Rev. Ernest Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the White Lily Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Geneva Meece will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the White Lily Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
