Mary Maxine Slavey
Age. 81
Loving wife of Richmond Lee Slavey of Faubush, Ky, daughter of Achiles and Henrietta Bland Molen, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 22, 2010. She was born in Pulaski Co. on August 20, 1928 and was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and auntie. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She was busy her entire life, never a dull moment, always baking or sewing or juggling her work with her devotion to her family. She has worked at Roses, Faubush Post Office, Election Polls, Palm Beach, Bridal World and Pulaski Funeral Home.
Maxine is survived by her husband, whom she married June 14, 1947, two daughters, Louretta Cundiff and Christi (and Billy) Miller, both of Somerset, and a special addition, Tammie Shockley of Scottsville, Ky. She had a great love for her five Grandsons, G.G (and Misty) Cundiff, Lucas (and Stephanie) Slavey, Kelly (and Ruth) Miller, Ricky (and Christie) Cundiff, Tyson ( and Mary Jo) Baker, and one Granddaughter, Mary Beth Miller. She was Grans to 14 beautiful great-grandchildren, which she was so proud of, and other nieces and nephews as well as many relatives and good friends.
Preceding her to Heaven were her parents, a beloved son, Gary Lee Slavey, three brothers, Leslie, Wess, and Lewell Molen and a sister, Clara Mae Tarter. Her reunion with her Loved ones will be joyous.
Visitation for Maxine Slavey will be at Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. EST. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bros. Billy Miller and Gilbert Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Thomas Cemetery in Faubush. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Pulaski Co. Alzheimer’s Respite Center, P.O. Box 393, Somerset, Ky. 42502.
