Mrs. Shirley "Grandma" Phillips, daughter of the late Harrison and Mollie Combs, was born at Hazard, KY on January 11, 1936 and departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 in the presence of her family, having attained the age of 70 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. James Phillips on February 7, 1954, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; four children, Diane (and Jack) Foster of Brandon, MI, Gregory Phillips of Cincinnati, OH, Timothy (and Debbie) Phillips of Cincinnati, OH and Tammy (and Arnold) Meadows of Bronston, KY, also surviving are; the following grandchildren, Bruce Roy Foster, Robert Greggory James Foster, William Alan Gilmer Foster, Anna Phillips, Ashley Renee Dalton, Chelsey Phillips, Paige Pyles, Brandon Pyles, Katherine Collins, Ashley Renee Meadows and Aaron Meadows; four great grandchildren, Madison Rae Dalton, Kayleigh Grace Plavic, Shanda Reynolds and Jordan Reynolds. The family would also like to acknowledge her very special brussell sprout eating companion " Lily Belle" and also a special thanks to Arnold Meadows and Nelda Foster.
Other than her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by; one son, Jimmy Phillips
Shirley worked as a service preparation supervisor for Frisch's restaurant in Somerset, KY, she adhered to the Methodist Faith and was a kind person who will be missed by all who knew her.
Private Graveside Services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Burnside Cemetery with Dr. Harold Brown officiating. Interment will follow the graveside services. The family of Mrs. Shirley "Grandma" Phillips will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2006.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital or the Shriners Burns Institute.
