Mrs. Susie Flora Garland of Somerset, daughter of the late Estel and Mary Frances (West) Hall was born on October 9, 1916 in Hall County, Texas and departed this life on Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital having attained the age of 93.
Other than her parents Mrs. Garland was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; Lucian W. Garland, one daughter, Imogene Wesley; two brothers, Georgie and Johnny Hall; three sisters, Ida Coomer, Eva West, Lula Walters and one grandchild, Richard Wesley.
Susie is survived by two brothers, Glenn Hall of Blanchester, Ohio and Martin Hall of Somerset, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Vickie (and Charles) Hoffman of Somerset, Kentucky, Donna (and Jim) McQueen of Somerset, Kentucky and Louie Wesley of Winchester, Kentucky; seven great grandchildren, Christi (and Chris) Burton, Marc (and Tish) Cundiff, Brandi (and Charles) Rose, Wesley Elizabeth Sowder, Dustin Wesley, Logan Wesley and Sydney Wesley. Mrs. Susie Garland also leaves behind 6 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who all mourn her passing.
Susie was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a former owner of Garlands Grocery. She was also a Eastern Star and loved gardening and quilting.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shadoan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mrs. Susie Garland will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
