Reva Burns Reynolds, 77, departed this life on March 20, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Reva was a loving wife, and companion to her husband Jim Reynolds for 59 years and she was a wonderful. Caring mother to Debbie Patterson (David) and Lisa Waddle (Gary), both of Somerset. Her grandchildren, Gretchen Waddle Miller (Branden), Rachel Waddle, Nathan Waddle and Jay Patterson are thankful for her guidance and Christian Example. Reva was involved in the lives of her great-grandchildren, Emily, Audrey and Isaac Miller to whom she was a sweet and affectionate Nana. Reva was loved and respected as an employer and friend to those who knew her as owner and manager of Lakeview Restaurant for many years. She was a Christian and a charter member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church.
Family members who were waiting for her arrival in heaven were her parents, Ambrose and Florida Burns; three brothers, Milton Layton and Roy Burns; one sister, Pauline Burns Sharp who was her best friend and who died o ALS (Lou Gehrig’s).
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 23, after 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, March 24 after 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Beacon Hill Baptist Church. The funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Beacon Hill. Officiating the services will be Dr. Doug Strader, Rev. Shelby Reynolds, and Rev. Sam Adkins. Entombment will be at the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the ALS Association or the Oneida Baptist Institute where Reva attended school.
