Dale Martin "Marty" VanHook

Mr. Dale Martin “Marty” VanHook, age. 53, son of the late Charles and Yvonne (Wright) VanHook was born in Somerset, Kentucky on September 6, 1956 and departed this life on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Marty is survived by his wife; Paula (Petrey) VanHook and their two children; Trent and Chelsi VanHook; one sister Jenny Lynn VanHook. Marty also leaves behind his father-in-law and mother-in-law Lawrence and Lorraine Petrey; one sister-in-law Lisa (and Russell) Boyd;one uncle Kerry Morrow and family; nieces and nephews Heather Loveless, Cara, Kaitlyn and Brandon Boyd and host of relatives and friends who all mourn his passing. Besides his parents Marty was preceded in death by one sister Mona Lisa Loveless; two brothers Charles “Chuck” VanHook and Dwight VanHook. Marty was a member of the East Somerset Baptist Church where he served the Lord as the lead guitarist for the church band. His humble attitude and greatness that he carried allowed him to be one of the most respected guitarist/musician anywhere around. He was the owner, real estate broker and real estate appraiser for VanHook Real Estate and Accurate Appraisals. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Somerset Baptist Church with Dr. Darvie Fenison and Bro. Greg Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery in Science Hill, Kentucky. The family of Mr. Dale Martin “Marty” VanHook will receive friends on Saturday, March 13, 2010 after 5:00 p.m. at the East Somerset Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the East Somerset Baptist Church Building Fund.
