Mrs. Frances Alice Marler

Frances Alice Marler, age 85, of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at her residence. She was of the Baptist faith. Frances was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on December 29, 1924, daughter of the late Frank W. and Ida Belle Sewell. She is survived by her husband, Marvin W. Marler, whom she married on September 29, 1943 in Rockcastle County; a sister, Mildred Carter of Somerset; two daughters, Marlene and (Donnie) Ping of Orlando, FL., Lyndora and (Sam) Phillips of Somerset; five grandchildren, Allison and (Jimmy) Nash of Orlando, FL., Marvin and (Tracy) Ping of Deltona, FL., Chris and (Leslie) Phillips of Somerset, Christie and (Josh) Seward of Pine Mountain, GA., Mike and (Marsha) Phillips of Science Hill; eight great-grandchildren, Garrett and Logan Nash, Jared and Kaitlyn Ping, Parker and Jenna Phillips, Belle and Gracie Seward. Preceding her in death was her parents, Frank W. and Ida Belle Sewell; three brothers, William D. Sewell, Willard Sewell, Delano Sewell; one sister, Tressie Sewell. In addition, Frances had many nephews, nieces and friends that lovingly referred to her as ‘Aunt Frank’. She loved country music, Renfro Valley, and the Grand Ole Opry. She also loved cooking and being with her family. Visitation will be held at Pulaski Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7 and friends may call after 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8 at Pulaski Funeral Home at 1 p.m. and burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery. The family of Frances Marler would like to thank her friends for all their thoughts, prayers and assistance in this time of loss. Also, a special thank you to her niece, Marla Lynn Mobbs and her dear friend, Brenda Gick, and the staff of Britthaven of Somerset for their care and love. In Lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
