Mr. Roy L. Abbott, son of the late Arthur Alonzo and Ella Francis Carrender Abbott, was born on February 21, 1927 and he departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2010 having attained the age of 82 years.
He was united in marriage to Vivian Yocom Abbott, she survives. Other than his wife, other survivors include; one brother-in-law; A. H. McKinney, two sisters-in-law, Blanche Haynes and Marie Abbott both of Somerset, KY and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Melvin and Raymond Abbott, and three sisters, Lexie Muffett, Maggie Gallager and Eva McKinney.
Roy was a self employed electrician, and he attended the High Street Baptist Church, and he served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Adkins and Rev. C. E. Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mr. Roy L. Abbott will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Pulaski Funeral Home until time for services.
