Mr. Joe B. Wallen

Mr. Joe B. Wallen, age 68 of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born on January 15, 1941. He was the former owner of Joe & Ruths's Midway Restaurant, he also retired from the State Department of Agriculture, and he attended the Parkers Mill Baptist Church. Joe is survived by his wife Jo Ann Flynn Wallen, his mother, Ella Walden Wallen; one brother, E.G. (and Wendy) Wallen; three children, Jeff (and Jan) Wallen, Sue (and Gary) Baker, Mark (and Angela) Wallen; two step-children, Rodney (and Teresa) Todd, and Jackie (and Willie) Bales; one niece, Shannon Wallen; one nephew, Travis Wallen; six grandchildren, Jami (and Taylor) Tohill, Adam Wallen, Courtney (and Brandon) Boyd, Kendra (and Shandon) Layne & Taylor Wallen; four great grandchildren, Mason Boyd, Briley Boyd, Hailey Layne, and Ethan Layne. Other than his father; Ernest Wallen who preceded him in death, he was also preceded in death by his first wife; Ruth Wallen and one brother; Max Wallen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at the3 Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral home with Rev. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Pigah Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family of Mr. Joe. B. Wallen will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form contributions to the Parkers Mill Baptist Church Building Fund.
