Mr. Everett E. Floyd, of Ard Ridge Road Nancy, KY and son of the late Perry Gilmore and Radie Belle Roberts Floyd, was born on September 25, 1919 and he departed this life on Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 90 years. He was united in marriage to Juanita Muse Floyd, she preceded him in death. Survivors include; one son, Darwin (and Evelyn) Floyd of Fairfield, OH; three daughters, Nelda (and Raymond) Tarter of Celina, TN, Wanzie (and Glen) Gadberry of Nancy, KY and Paulette (and Jerry) Gadberry of Somerset, KY; two grandsons, Paul Thomas (and Lisa) Gadberry of Byrdstown, TN and Lucas Matthew Gadberry of Somerset, KY; four grand daughters, Melissa (and Joe) Bastin of Somerset, KY, Diane Floyd of Fairfield, OH, Donna (and Chris) Murphy of Fairfield, OH and Lindsey Brooke Gadberry of Somerset, KY; one great grandson, Matthew Murphy or Corain Township, OH; three great grand daughters, Jessica Makayla and Hannah Murphy of Corain Township, OH and Emma Grace Gadberry of Byrdstown, TN; and one sister, Montie Vanhoosier of Nancy, KY. Other than his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by ; one son, Royce Lee Floyd; four brothers, Omer Floyd, Emery “Tudy” Floyd, Lewis “Dude” Floyd, and Willard “John” Floyd; and two sisters, Elsie Muse and Delphia Marcum. Everett was a World War II veteran and he retired from the Mill Springs National Cemetery where he served for many years as a caretaker and grounds keeper. He also enjoyed farming, and coon hunting and he attended the Naomi Nazarene Church. Everett was a kind person who enjoyed life, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Kaminiski officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with Military honors conducted by the Somerset American Legion Post # 38. The family of Mr. Everett Floyd will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Pulaski Funeral Home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer Respite Center. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Everett Floyd.
