Frances R. Neikirk

Mrs. Frances Randall Neikirk, 100 Neighborly Way, daughter of the late William Elmer and Hulda Jane Price Randall, was born in Pulaski Co., KY on Dec 31, 1920 and passed away on Oct. 14, 2009 at 88 years of age. She was married to Paul Eugene Neikirk Oct 30, 1945; he preceded her in death Oct 16, 1974. Survivors include two sons Joseph Franklin (and Jamie Sue) Neikirk of Somerset, Ky; Randall Eugene (and Tracey) Neikirk of Science Hill, Ky. Special niece Jane Kay Shepard Smith and brother in law Lester Shepard. Five Grandchildren; Joshua Paul (and Melissa) Neikirk, Seattle, WA; Laura Michelle (and Daniel) Ross, Cincinnati, OH, Jordan Parker Neikirk, Somerset; Phillip Eugene Neikirk, Science Hill; and Perry Edward Neikirk, Science Hill. Also nieces and nephews; Carolyn Caudill, Jane Kay Smith, David Lyle Neikirk, and Carl William Randall. Preceding her in death are four brothers; Cecil Brent Randall, John William (and Lola Estill) Randall, Carl (and Bertie Mae) Randall and Quinton (and Sybil) Randall; three sisters; Infant, Beulah (and Joe) Parapatics, Grace (and Lester, who survives) Shepard. Frances, along with her husband Paul, was co-founder of Paul’s Discount and worked there for over forty years. She had a degree in education from Sue Bennett College and had been a schoolteacher in the 5th grade at Eubank Elementary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Somerset. Mrs. Neikirk was a past member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club where she served as president for one year. Frances and her sister-in-law the late Wanda Korte enjoyed traveling and attending UK football games. The family of Frances Neikirk would like to convey their gratitude to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and The Neighborhood assisted living facility for their compassionate care of her during this time. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 with Pastor David King officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, KY. The family of Frances R Neikirk will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009. Please make lasting expressions of sympathy to the Gideon’s Memorial Bible Program, Hospice of Lake Cumberland, or the Lakeside Baptist Church Building Fund.
