Mr. James “Jim” R. Quinton, son of the late Carl and Lena Smith Quinton, was born in the Pulaski Community on Dec. 14, 1937 and he departed this life on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital having attained the age of 71 years.
He was united in marriage to Deanna Glover Quinton on June 12, 1962 in the Ruth Community of Pulaski County, she survives. Other survivors include; three sons, Joey (and Mitzi) Quinton of Somerset, KY, Rodney (and Kimberly) Quinton of Georgetown, KY, and Kevin (and Robin) Quinton of Harrodsburg, KY and one daughter, Kelli Robinson of Somerset, KY. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Andrew Beasley, Seth Quinton, Sawyer Quinton, Chase Robinson, Blake Quinton, Victoria Quinton, and Sarah Beth Robinson and two sisters, Christine Hall of Pine Knot, KY and Freeda Calder of Ohio.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; three sisters, Betty Vaughn, Edith Calder, and Wilda New, and two brothers, Charles and Johnny Quinton.
Jim was retired from Crane Plumbing, and he was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a kind person who enjoyed the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
The family of Mr. Jim Quinton will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
