Verna Mae Avera

Verna Mae Avera, daughter of the late Achilles and Arletta Hughes Hopper, was born in Somerset, KY on June 14, 1925 and departed this life on Saturday, May 13, 2006 having attained the age of 80 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Richard J. Avera, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; three sons, Richard (and Dixie) Avera of Leesburg, VA, Kenneth R. (and Lois) Avera of Somerset, KY and K. Richard Avera of Science Hill, KY; two daughters, Sue (and Leo) Jones of Science Hill, KY and Margaret (and Jeff) Dick of Somerset, KY; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Verna was a retired cook for the Somerset School System and a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church, she was a kind lady who will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, MAy 15, 2006 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Burial will take place following the services at the Somerset Cemetery. The Family of Verna Mae Avera will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
