Henry Thomas Massalon Jr.

Mr. Henry Thomas. Massalon Jr., son of the late Henry T. and Sophia Pearl (Connor) Massalon was born in Charleston, South Carolina on February 17, 1921 and departed this life on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at his residence in Somerset, Kentucky having attained the age of 88 years. Besides his parents Mr. Massalon is preceded in death by four brothers; Daniel Eugene Massalon, Jesse Andrew Massalon, Joseph Amial Massalon, Robert Lee Massalon and one sister; Norma Massalon Baxter. Mr. Massalon is survived by his nephews and nieces: Gloria Dunlap, Deborah Massalon, Tommy Massalon, Joyce Guffin, Daniel Massalon, Glenn Massalon and his best friend Gary. Henry was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Somerset, Kentucky. He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army and worked in Administration for the Charleston Naval Shipyard in Charleston, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Redeemer Presbyterian Church at 43 Wentworth Street in Charleston, South Carolina. Visitation for Mr. Henry Thomas Massalon Jr. will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home and on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home Downtown location 232 Calhoun Street Charleston, South Carolina 29401. Burial will be held in the Bethany Cemetery in Charleston, South Carolina.
