Mrs. Flora Etherage Shadoan, daughter of the late Montie Dunagan and Clara Canada Dunagan, was born in Wayne Co., KY, on October 17, 1922; and departed this life on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Florida Hospital in New Smyrna Beach, Florida having attained the age of 94 years; formerly of Pulaski Co., Kentucky; she has spent the last four years at Country Side Lakes Assisted Living in Port Orange, FL.She was united in marriage to Lowell Clifford Shadoan on June 8, 1950; and who preceded her in death on November 30, 2007. Survivors include one son, Monty & (Sharon) Shadoan of Bronston, KY.; one daughter, Lynn & (Steve) Shirley of Port Orange, FL.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Shirley of Huntington, WV., Darcy Shirley of Charlotte, NC., and Kyle & (Jackie Sue) Shadoan of Maysville, KY., one great-granddaughter, Vail Shadoan of Maysville, KY.; three brothers, Harold & (Irene) Dunagan, Montie Hugh Dunagan, and Donald & (Nancy) Dunagan all of Frazier, KY.; and one sister, Lynette & (Don) Polston of Daytona Beach, FL.; and a sister-in-law, Colleen Dunagan of Bronston, KY.Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Ray Dunagan of Bronston, KY.; and two sisters, Nell Page of Indianapolis, IN., and Edith Shearer of Danville, KY.Etherage was a retired school teacher of 37 years and she spent most of her teaching career at Pulaski Elementary. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her bible, and watching UK basketball games. She was a Christian individual and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who all mourn her passing and celebrate her homegoing. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shadoan officiating.Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.Visitaiton for Mrs. Flora Etherage Shadoan will be from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Pulaski Funeral Home.It is requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideons International.
